Nitronic 60 Stainless Steel CNC Machining
Nitronic 60 (UNS S21800) is a high-performance high-nitrogen, high-manganese austenitic stainless steel. Renowned for its unparalleled combination of exceptional wear resistance, extremely high strength, and excellent corrosion resistance, its performance far surpasses that of conventional 300 series stainless steels (such as 304 and 316).
In extreme operating conditions requiring severe wear resistance, high load-bearing capacity, non-magnetism, and good corrosion resistance, Nitronic 60 is the irreplaceable engineering material of choice. We offer professional Nitronic 60 CNC machining services to tackle the processing challenges of this difficult-to-machine material, delivering critical components that meet the most stringent requirements.
Nitronic 60 Alloy CNC Machining
Through unique alloy design (adding high levels of Manganese and Nitrogen, along with Chromium and Nickel), Nitronic 60 achieves extremely high strength through solid solution strengthening and cold work hardening, without requiring traditional heat treatment quenching.
It maintains a fully austenitic structure, resulting in non-magnetism. Its wear resistance benefits from high hardness and work-hardening capability, rivaling that of many tool steels, while retaining the corrosion resistance of stainless steel. Machining this material requires specialized knowledge and processes to control its significant work-hardening tendency.
